Exploring, recording, and celebrating Cheltenham’s heritage
Cheltenham Local History Society was founded in 1982. Our ambition is to create a participatory, inclusive and friendly environment for our members to stimulate their interest, encourage involvement, and facilitate their understanding of Cheltenham’s heritage.
2022 marked a special year for CLHS as we celebrated our 40th anniversary.
Since 1982, CLHS has gone from strength to strength and now counts around 350 people among its membership. A short audio-visual presentation celebrates the activities of the Society in the last 40 years. Please click here to view the presentation.
The Mayor of Cheltenham, Cllr Paul Baker, is our President.
