Dr John Avery Jones CBE is a retired judge who dealt solely with tax cases and a retired Visiting Professor at the LSE. In his retirement he has taken an interest in the legal and tax side of Jane Austen and her family and of other writers of that time such as Frances Burney and Parson Woodforde.
