Local History Resources for Cheltenham Primary Schools

Cheltenham Local History Society has launched an exciting new brochure to support the development of topics within Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum. Although aimed at Cheltenham primary schools, it is sure to attract wider interest.

Including a directory of more than 60 local, regional and national history resources, the brochure also contains ideas for classroom topics, types of teaching materials available and a real-life case study, where the Society teamed up with Naunton Park Primary School.

If you are a teacher looking for new ideas to inspire and engage your classes this free resource may be just what you need. The brochure is downloadable, in pdf format with interactive links, by clicking on the image on this page. We hope you will find it useful.

If you have any queries or ideas about the brochure, or just want to ask a question, please get in touch via our Contact page.

“A fantastic resource for teachers covering the fascinating local stories of Cheltenham and the surrounding area. Plus (so useful!) an easy how-to list of all the people and places you can call on to help bring Cheltenham’s history to life for your pupils.”
